Our story

Our story of sustainability and tradition in Monteverde

Finca Paraíso is a family-run dairy farm in Monteverde, about 15 minutes from Santa Elena. Orlando and his family work the farm every day and welcome visitors to share how a small Costa Rican dairy farm really works.

We farm without chemicals and take care of our animals and the land. Our herd of more than 20 cows grazes outdoors in the hills of Monteverde, and their milk is what our guests turn into fresh cheese with their own hands.

Keeping the dairy tradition of Monteverde alive

The dairy and cheese tradition of Monteverde goes back to the 1950s, when a group of Quaker families settled here, started dairy farming and made cheese. Today our family keeps that tradition alive, one tour at a time.
